Tackling Period Poverty—Breaking the Silence for Girls

Millions of girls miss school every month due to a natural biological process—menstruation. But the real barrier isn’t physical; it’s social. It’s shame, stigma, and silence.

Through our Dignity First program, the Collette Foundation distributes hygiene kits and hosts menstrual health education workshops in rural schools. We train both girls and boys to foster open, respectful conversations.

This year alone:

  • 1,800 girls received reusable sanitary kits
  • 120 local women were trained to sew sustainable pads
  • 55 schools launched peer-led health clubs

Ending period poverty isn’t just about access—it’s about dignity, confidence, and education. And we’re committed to breaking the silence, one conversation at a time.
